Students with surname beginning PG-Z: ECL Lecture Theater 4

How long is the Exam?

2 hours.

What can I bring into the exam?

The unit textbook, Computer Networks (3rd ed) by Andrew Tanenbaum only. You may put small markers on your textbooks to mark out different sections for easy reference. There can be NO EXTRA NOTES on the markers, or any extra pages or scraps of paper. You may write notes ON the textbook or highlight in any way you feel appropriate.

This sample exam is a guide to format and level of difficulty only. DO NOT DEPEND ON THE SAME QUESTIONS COMING OUT IN THE REAL EXAM! I guarantee you less than 10% of the questions in the sample exam will come out in the real exam.

Which questions in pass exams are not relevant?

The following questions are NOT relevant in this year's exam.

1999 Exam: 7, 8, 13, 14.

1998 Exam:
Part A: all - there will be no multiple choice this year.
Part B: 8.

1997 Exam: 8, 14.

Anything else I need to know?

Due to the fact that I wasn't able to cover all the relevant material, there are two questions in the real exam which you should ignore. There will be instructions on the final exam manuscript on which questions to ignore.
