MICROSOFT Australia has shelved plans to launch a locally hosted, subscription-based software sales service through its bCentral Australia website.
After a low-profile bCentral Australia launch in May, there were suggestions subscription-based services would be made available in Australia, similar to those available in the United States since last year.

What does the "subscription-based software sales" service mean, and what software is bCentral Australia proposing to include?

  2. Excerpt:
"Mr Reith has been advised by Defence that the national security considerations in relation to the bid have been satisfied," the spokesman said.
His comments follow allegations by Australian National University defence analysts Des Ball and Ross Babbage that Singapore has a long history of espionage in Australia.
"It's not just one or two instances that have occurred in the last 20 years, it's a whole series of instances," Dr Babbage said. "The Government needs to be aware of the full range of potential problems in this arrangement."
